Academic Honesty Procedure
Ventura College is committed to student learning through intellectual and creative means. Such means do not include any forms of academic dishonesty, including such actions as cheating, plagiarism, pirating materials or other means of utilizing another's work without appropriate attribution or permission. Students who participate in such activities are subject to the student discipline code. However, in order to assist students with assessing what constitutes acceptable use of the Internet and other research opportunities, and faculty with instructing students in these matters and investigating suspected academic dishonesty, the College has created this web page. On this site, students can learn what constitutes academic activities that are intellectually acceptable and how to avoid including unacceptable research or writing in their work. Faculty can find support for instructing students on these issues and links to sites that will investigate and document instances of suspect work. There are support links in Spanish as well. Finally, the College and District policies regarding academic dishonesty and the Student Conduct Code and Student Disciplinary Policy are available for review.
