Be Heard. Make A Difference. Get Involved!
Associated Students of Ventura College (ASVC) is the official student government at Ventura College, representing over 12,500 registered students each semester. ASVC is committed to tirelessly advocating on behalf of the student body, enhancing the entire Pirate experience and promoting the image of the college by upholding ourselves to the highest standards, leading with integrity and selflessly serving the college and beyond.
As the years progress, Student Government will continue to create an academic and extra-curricular environment benefiting students with limitless involvement opportunities on campus. Pirates may already choose to participate from the following list of programs and classes that are currently available.
ASVC Board
ASVC Executive Officers, Representatives, and active clubs are all members of the ASVC Board. The student run organization assumes major responsibility for coordinating student activities and expressing student concerns, interests, and viewpoints to the administration. ASVC Board meetings are held every Tuesday from 12:30-1:20pm in the Campus Center Conference room (cafeteria).
Leadership Internship
Interested students and members of the ASVC Board have the opportunity to take Leadership Internship V95. Students will gain conceptual and practical experience in the role of leadership in relation to student government and the overall campus organization. The course provides up to three units of credit transferable to CSU and is repeatable.
Ventura College Committees
ASVC Executive Officers and interested students are strongly encouraged to be represented on all College-wide and District committees, councils, and boards that influence College policy making. Visit the Student Activities Office (CSA Building) or call (805) 654-6487 for more details.
