Special Admission Students
Information for Special Admission Students (Grades 9 – 12) & Their Parents
All Special Admission students are encouraged to apply on-line via CCCApply.
The following applies to all special admission students including home schooled students
All Special Admission students must register in person.
Registration dates are published in the online and printed registration calendars. At the time of registration, all special admission students must have the following:

an approved Special Admission form signed by their school principal or counselor and a parent (be sure that courses recommended by high school are listed on the Recommendation for Special Admission form)

a Memorandum of Understanding signed by parent and student (first time students only)

an unofficial copy of their most recent school transcript (used to determine grade level and by counselors in assessment/advisement)

a completed application for admission (if they have not already applied on-line, first time students only)

Registration Instructions for Special Admission Students in Grades 9 – 12:

First time students: Complete all forms in the Special Admission packet

Students who have attended the college before: complete the Recommendation for Special Admission form with your high school principal or designated counselor, have a parent sign. Be sure to get a new copy of your unofficial high school transcript.

To register in a Math or English Course: See a college counselor – bring an unofficial copy of your most recent high school transcript to verify that you have met the prerequisites. You may be required to complete the Ventura College assessment process if you have not taken the necessary prerequisite course.

Register in-person during the registration dates and hours listed in the Schedule of Classes or online Registration Calendar.

You may register in any open academic class for which you meet the prerequisite requirements
Registration Instructions for Special Admission Students Entering Grades K – 8:

Complete all forms in Special Admission Packet.

Obtain approval from the Ventura College instructor in order to enroll in any class. Attend the first meeting of the class, and the instructor will grant approval with his/her signature or give the student a 4-digit Add Authorization number.

See a Ventura College Counselor for advisement and signature on the Recommendation for Special Admission. (Required)

See a Ventura College Counselor to obtain a Pre-Requisite release form indicating completion of academic prerequisites in order to enroll for any Math or English course. May be required to complete Ventura College assessment process.

Register in person once instructor approval has been granted during the registration dates and hours listed in the Schedule of Classes or the online Registration Calendar.
Fee Information for Special Admission Students
Special Admission students are exempt from paying the $26.00 per unit enrollment fee. However, they are responsible for payment of the following fees:

Health fee – mandatory

Student Center fee – mandatory

Parking fee – optional

Associated Student/Photo ID - optional

Nonresident Tuition – mandatory, if applicable

Foreign Student Capital Outlay Fee – mandatory, if applicable
Important Notes

The academic records of all students, including Special Admission students, are private and will not be released without the student’s written consent to anyone including parents or guardians.

Special Admission students are responsible for complying with all Ventura College rules, regulations, and deadline dates.

Special Admission students must make a written request for their records to be sent once their class has been completed. Transcripts are not sent automatically and cannot be sent without the student’s written consent.

Ventura College does not send grade cards. Special Admission students may use webSTAR to access their grades.
